Al-Taareq

The Comet (Al-Taareq)

17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)

In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful

By the heaven, and At-Tariq (the night-comer, i.e. the bright star); 1 Do you know what al-tariq is? 2 It is the star shining brightly. 3 That over each soul there is a guardian. 4 So let man consider from what he is created. 5 He was created of spurting water 6 emanating from between the loins and the ribs. 7 Verily, (Allah) is Able to bring him back (to life)! 8 On the day when hidden things shall be made manifest, 9 So man will neither have any strength nor any aide. 10 By the heaven which giveth the returning rain, 11 And the earth which opens up (with verdure), 12 Most surely it is a decisive word, 13 It is not a thing for amusement. 14 They are devising guile, 15 And I (too) will make a scheme. 16 So give a respite to the disbelievers. Deal thou gently with them for a while. 17

Allah Almighty has spoken the truth.
