And towards the people of A’ad, their fellow man Hud; he said, “O my people! Worship Allah – there is no other True God except Him; you are purely fabricators.” 50 My people, I do not ask any reward for what I have preached to you. No one can give me my reward except my Creator. Will you then not take heed? 51 O My people! ask forgiveness of your Lord, then repent toward Him; He will send the heaven upon you pouring, and He will add you strength upon your strength, and turn not away as guilty ones. 52 They say: O Hud! thou hast not brought us an evidence, and we are not going to abandon our gods for thy saying, nor are we going to be believers in thee. 53 All we can say is that some god of ours has afflicted you with evil.. Hud said: 'Indeed I take Allah as my witness, and you too to be my witnesses that I have nothing to do with your associating with Allah 54 With Him (Allah). So plot against me, all of you, and give me no respite. 55 "I put my trust in Allah, my Lord and your Lord! There is not a moving (living) creature but He has grasp of its forelock. Verily, my Lord is on the Straight Path (the truth). 56 But if they turn away, [say], "I have already conveyed that with which I was sent to you. My Lord will give succession to a people other than you, and you will not harm Him at all. Indeed my Lord is, over all things, Guardian." 57 And when Our commandment came to pass We saved Hud and those who believed with him by a mercy from Us; We saved them from a harsh doom. 58 And this was Ad; they denied the communications of their Lord, and disobeyed His apostles and followed the bidding of every insolent opposer (of truth). 59 And a curse followed them in the world, and on the Day of Resurrection; pay heed! Indeed A’ad disbelieved in their Lord; away with A’ad, the people of Hud! 60
