Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
26 verses, revealed in Mecca after Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat) before The Cave (Al-Kahf)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
Has the story reached thee of the overwhelming (Event)? 1 Some faces, that Day, will be humiliated, 2 labouring, toilworn, 3 roasting at a scorching Fire 4 given to drink from a boiling spring. 5 There is no food for them except thorns of fire. 6 Which will neither fatten nor avail against hunger. 7 (Other) faces on that day shall be happy, 8 Well-pleased because of their striving, 9 In a high Garden 10 Wherein you shall not hear vain talk. 11 In it is a flowing spring. 12 Therein are thrones raised high, 13 And cups set at hand. 14 And arranged carpets. 15 And carpets spread around. 16 What, do they not reflect upon how the camel was created? 17 And the heaven, how it is reared aloft, 18 And the hills, how they are set up? 19 And the earth – how it has been spread out? 20 And so, [O Prophet,] exhort them; thy task is only to exhort: 21 You are not charged to oversee them. 22 Save the one who turns away and disbelieves 23 God shall chastise him with the greatest chastisement. 24 Certainly, it is to Us that they will return. 25 and then it is for Us to call them to account. 26
God Almighty has spoken the truth.

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
