Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
By the scatterers (the wind) scattering, 1 And the clouds bearing a load. 2 which then smoothly speed along, 3 And those [angels] apportioning [each] matter, 4 What you are promised is certainly true: 5 and the Judgement shall doubtlessly take place. 6 And by oath of the decorated heaven. 7 Truly ye are in a doctrine discordant, 8 Deluded away from the Qur'an is he who is deluded. 9 Woe to the falsehood-mongers,- 10 Those who have forgotten in a state of intoxication. 11 asking, 'When shall be the Day of Doom?' 12 Upon the day when they shall be tried at the Fire: 13 Taste your burning: this is that which ye sought to be hastened. 14 Surely the godfearing shall be among gardens and fountains 15 receiving what their Lord will give them because before this they were gooddoers. 16 They slept very little during the night 17 and would pray for forgiveness from their innermost hearts; 18 And from their properties was [given] the right of the [needy] petitioner and the deprived. 19 In the earth are signs for those having sure faith; 20 And in your own selves; so can you not perceive? 21 And in the heaven lies your sustenance, and the promise you are given. 22 for, by the Sustainer of heaven and earth, this [life after death] is the very truth - as true as that you are endowed with speech! 23
