Has the story of Abraham's honoured guests come to you? 24 Behold, they entered his presence, and said: "Peace!" He said, "Peace!" (and thought, "These seem) unusual people." 25 Then he went to his home – so he brought a healthy calf. 26 He placed it before them. Then he said, "Why are you not eating?" 27 Then he conceived a fear of them. They said: Fear not! and gave him tidings of (the birth of) a wise son. 28 Then his wife came forward, making moan, and smote her face, and cried: A barren old woman! 29 They said: Even so saith thy Lord. Lo! He is the Wise, the Knower. 30 ۞ Abraham asked, "Messengers, what is your task?" 31 They said: Lo! we are sent unto a guilty folk, 32 That we may send down upon them stone of clay, 33 "Marked as from thy Lord for those who trespass beyond bounds." 34 Then We evacuated those of the Believers who were there, 35 We found in it only one household of true believers -- 36 And We left therein a sign for those who fear the painful punishment. 37 And in Musa (Moses) (too, there is a sign). When We sent him to Fir'aun (Pharaoh) with a manifest authority. 38 but he turned his back with his Assembly, saying: 'He is (either) a sorcerer or a mad man' 39 So We seized him and his hosts and hurled them into the sea and he was blamable. 40 There is another sign in the [tribe of] 'Ad, when We sent against them a life-destroying wind 41 that left nothing that it came upon without reducing it to rubble. 42 And in Thamud (there is also a sign), when they were told: "Enjoy yourselves for a while!" 43 But they revolted against the commandment of their Lord, so the rumbling overtook them while they saw. 44 And neither stand up nor defend themselves. 45 (So were) the people of Nuh (Noah) before them. Verily, they were a people who were Fasiqun (rebellious, disobedient to Allah). 46
