Whatever misfortune befalls you is of your own doing, God forgives much, 30 You cannot thwart Him on the earth, and have no friend or helper apart from Him. 31 And of His signs are the ships in the sea like landmarks. 32 and if He wills, He stills the wind, and they remain motionless on its back. Surely in that are signs for every man enduring, thankful. 33 Or He could wreck them for what they have done; yet there is much that He pardons. 34 those who dispute Our signs shall learn that they have no escape. 35 Whatever you have received is just a means of enjoyment for this life but the reward of God for the believers and those who trust in their Lord will be better and everlasting. 36 And those who avoid the major sins and immoralities, and when they are angry, they forgive, 37 those who answer their Lord, establish the prayers, and their affairs are by consultation; who spend of that which We have given them, 38 And those who defend themselves when they are wronged. 39 The recompense of evil is evil the like of it. But he who forgives and makes amends, his reward lies with Allah. Surely He does not love the wrong-doers. 40 And whosoever helps himself after he has been wronged -- against them there is no way. 41 The way (of blame) is only against those who oppress mankind, and wrongfully rebel in the earth. For such there is a painful doom. 42 But surely he who bears patiently and is forgiving -- surely that is true constancy. 43
