▼ 56 The Inevitable
Al-Waaqe'ah 3 of 3
۞ Nay, I swear by the setting of the stars -- 75 And most surely it is a very great oath if you only knew; 76 Behold, it is a truly noble discourse, 77 (Inscribed) in the well-kept Book. 78 none but the purified shall touch, 79 [It is] a revelation from the Lord of the worlds. 80 What, do you hold this discourse in disdain, 81 do you make it your provision to belie it? 82 Then why do you not (intervene) when (the soul of a dying person) reaches the throat? 83 and that hour you are watching 84 But We are nearer to him than ye, and yet see not,- 85 Why then, if ye are not in bondage (unto Us), 86 do you not cause the soul to return to him if you are truthful in your claim? 87 Then, if he be of those brought nigh the Throne, 88 Then happiness and bounty and a garden of bliss. 89 And if one happens to be of those who have attained to righteousness, 90 There will be the salutation by those of the right hand: "Peace on you. 91 But if one happens to be of those who are wont to call the truth a lie, and [thus] go astray, 92 The welcome will be boiling water 93 And roasting at hell-fire. 94 Indeed, this is the true certainty, 95 So glorify the name of your Lord, the Supreme. 96

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
