Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By those [winds] sent forth in gusts 1 which then blow tempestuously 2 Then by oath of those that lift and carry. 3 And those that distinguish distinctly, 4 And those [angels] who deliver a message 5 to provide excuses for some and to give warnings to others: 6 surely that which you are promised is about to fall! 7 Then when the stars become dim; 8 and when the sky is rent asunder, 9 And when the mountains are made into dust and blown away. 10 And when the messengers are brought unto their time appointed - 11 to what day shall they be delayed? 12 For the Day of Distinction [between the true and the false]! 13 And what will make you comprehend what the day of decision is? 14 Woe, that Day, to the deniers. 15 Did We not destroy the ancient people 16 Then did We follow them up with later ones. 17 Thus do We deal with men of sin. 18 Alas the woe that day for those who deny! 19 Created We you not of water despicable, 20 Which We laid up in a safe abode 21 for an appointed time? 22 So We decreed. How excellent are We as decreers! 23 On that day, woe would be upon those who have rejected the revelations of God! 24 Have We not made the earth a receptacle? 25 for both the living and the dead? 26 Have We not placed high mountains upon it and filled you with sweet water? 27 Ruin is for the deniers on that day! 28 GO ON towards that [resurrection] which you were wont to call a lie! 29 Go to the shadow with three ramifications, 30 [But having] no cool shade and availing not against the flame." 31 "Indeed it throws about sparks (huge) as Forts, 32 "As if there were (a string of) yellow camels (marching swiftly)." 33 Woe on that Day to those who reject the truth! 34 They will not be able to speak that day, 35 Nor will it be open to them to put forth pleas. 36 Woe on that day unto the beliers! 37 Such is the Day of Decision. We will gather you with the ancients. 38 If you are cunning, then try your cunning against Me! 39 Woe on that day to the rejecters. 40
