The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By the heaven and the Morning Star 1 and what could make you know what it is that comes in the night? 2 It is the piercing star - 3 There is no living being but there is a protector over it. 4 Let the human reflect of what he is created. 5 Created from a gushing fluid. 6 issuing from between the loins [of man] and the pelvic arch [of woman]. 7 Lo! He verily is Able to return him (unto life) 8 On the day when hidden things shall be made manifest, 9 Then will he have no might nor any helper. 10 By the sky with its returning rain, 11 And the earth which splitteth (with the growth of trees and plants) 12 Indeed the Qur’an is a decisive Word. 13 and it is certainly not a jest. 14 They are planning a scheme, 15 And I am plotting a plot. 16 So leave the unbelievers to themselves; respite them awhile. 17
God Almighty has spoken the truth.
