The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
By the heaven and the Morning Star 1 And what will make you know what the comer by night is? 2 - The piercing Star! 3 For every soul there is a watcher. 4 Let man reflect on what he was created from. 5 He was created of spurting water 6 Issuing from (the pelvis) between the backbone and the ribs. 7 Verily He is Able to restore him, 8 The Day when secrets will be put on trial, 9 [man] will have no power, and no helper. 10 By oath of the sky from which comes down the rain. 11 And [by] the earth which cracks open, 12 Verily, it is a discourse distinguishing. 13 And it is not a frivolity. 14 Indeed the disbelievers carry out their evil schemes. 15 but I shall bring all their scheming to nought. 16 So allow time for the disbelievers. Leave them awhile. 17
