Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ Nay, I swear by the Day of Resurrection; 1 But nay! I call to witness the accusing voice of man's own conscience! 2 What, does man reckon We shall not gather his bones? 3 Yea! We are able to make complete his very fingertips 4 Rather, the human desires to continue in his immorality, 5 He asks: "When will the Day of Resurrection be?" 6 So when vision is dazzled 7 The moon eclipsed, 8 And the sun and moon will be joined together (by going one into the other or folded up or deprived of their light, etc.) 9 On that day man will cry: Whither to flee! 10 No! There is no refuge. 11 Before thy Lord (alone), that Day will be the place of rest. 12 Upon that day man shall be told his former deeds and his latter; 13 nay, man shall be a clear proof against himself, 14 And even if he presents all the excuses he has, none will be listened to. 15 O dear Prophet (Mohammed – peace and blessings be upon him), do not cause your tongue to move along with the Qur’an in order to learn it faster. 16 It is for Us to collect it and to promulgate it: 17 So, as We recite it, follow its reading. 18 then it will be for Us to explain it. 19 But no. You love this transient life, 20 And you have forsaken the Hereafter. 21 On that Day there shall be radiant faces, 22 Looking toward their Lord. 23 and upon that day faces shall be scowling, 24 Imagining that there will befall them a waiste-breaking calomity. 25 Yes indeed, when the soul will reach up to the throat. 26 and the angels say, "Who will take away his soul, 27 and he realises that the hour of parting is come, 28 and is enwrapped in the pangs of death 29 On that Day you will be driven to your Lord. 30
