The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By oath of those who harshly pull out the soul. 1 and those that blow gently, 2 and by [the clouds] that swim serenely and 3 And who quickly present themselves. 4 by the managers (angels) affair. 5 [HENCE, think of] the Day when a violent convulsion will convulse [the world,] 6 followed by the succeeding, 7 On that Day some hearts shall tremble (with fright), 8 and their eyes shall be humbled. 9 They say: 'What, are we being restored as we were before, 10 Even if we should be decayed bones? 11 They say: "It would in that case, be a return with loss!" 12 So that is not but a single shout. 13 And lo! they all shall appear on the surface. 14 Has Moses' story reached you? 15 Behold, thy Lord did call to him in the sacred valley of Tuwa:- 16 'Go to Pharaoh; he has waxed insolent. 17 And say to him, 'Would you [be willing to] purify yourself 18 "'And that I guide thee to thy Lord, so thou shouldst fear Him?'" 19 Moses showed him the great miracle 20 But he disavowed and disobeyed. 21 Then he quickly turned his back. 22 then he mustered 23 And said, "I am your most exalted lord." 24 So God seized him with the chastisement of the Last World and the First. 25 surely there is in this a lesson for the God-fearing. 26
