Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
Has there come to you the narration of the overwhelming (i.e. the Day of Resurrection); 1 Some faces, that Day, will be humiliated, 2 Working [hard] and exhausted. 3 roasting at a scorching Fire 4 and will be made to drink from a boiling spring, 5 No food for them save bitter thorn-fruit 6 unfattening, unappeasing hunger. 7 Faces on that Day shall be delighted, 8 With their endeavour well pleased. 9 in a garden sublime, 10 Wherein you shall not hear vain talk. 11 Countless springs will flow therein, 12 raised couches, 13 Goblets placed (ready), 14 And cushions set in rows, 15 and carpets outspread. 16 Do (these unbelievers) not observe the camels: how they were created? 17 And the heaven, how it is reared aloft, 18 and how the mountains were firmly fixed? 19 And the earth, how it is made a vast expanse? 20 Therefore advise; indeed you are a proclaimer of advice. (The Holy Prophet is a Remembrance from Allah.) 21 You are not charged to oversee them. 22 But he who turns his back, and disbelieves, 23 him will God cause to suffer the greatest suffering [in the life to come]: 24 Certainly, it is to Us that they will return. 25 Then indeed, upon Us is their account. 26
