Noah (Nooh)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
WE SENT NOAH to his people to warn them before the painful punishment came upon them. 1 Noah said: “My people, I have certainly been sent as a clear warner to you, 2 That you should worship God and fear Him, and follow me 3 He will forgive your sins and will grant you respite till an appointed time. When the time appointed by God arrives, it cannot be postponed, if you only knew." 4 He said: My Lord! Lo! I have called unto my people night and day 5 but my calling has only increased them in flight. 6 And indeed, every time I invited them that You may forgive them, they put their fingers in their ears, covered themselves with their garments, persisted, and were arrogant with [great] arrogance. 7 "And behold I called unto them openly; 8 “Then I also told them publicly and also spoke to them softly in private.” 9 Then I said, "Ask forgiveness of your Lord. Surely He is the most forgiving. 10 and He will loose heaven upon you in torrents 11 and will provide you with wealth and children, and will bestow upon you gardens and rivers. 12 What is the matter with you, [that you fear not Allah (His punishment), and] you hope not for reward (from Allah or you believe not in His Oneness). 13 When He created you by (divers) stages? 14 "Have you not seen that God has created the seven heavens one above the other 15 And has made the moon a light therein, and made the sun a lamp? 16 And Allah has caused you to grow from the earth a [progressive] growth. 17 "'And in the End He will return you into the (earth), and raise you forth (again at the Resurrection)? 18 And Allah hath made the earth a wide expanse for you 19 ‘So that you may tread the wide roads in it.’” 20
