And [every time] the great ones among his people, who refused to acknowledge the truth and gave the lie to the announcement of a life to come - [simply] because We had granted them ease and plenty in [their] worldly life, and they had become corrupted by it [every time] they would say: "This [man] is nothing hut a mortal like yourselves, eating of what you eat, and drinking of what you drink: 33 if you obey a human being just like yourselves, then you will surely be lost. 34 “Does he promise you that when you die and turn into dust and bones, you will be raised again?” 35 ۞ Away, away with that you are promised! 36 This is our only life. We live and will die but we will never be brought back to life again. 37 "He is only a man who has invented a lie against Allah, but we are not going to believe in him." 38 (The prophet) said: "O my Lord! help me: for that they accuse me of falsehood." 39 (Allah) said: "In a little while, they are sure to be regretful." 40 So the (Awful) Cry overtook them rightfully, and We made them like as wreckage (that a torrent hurleth). A far removal for wrongdoing folk! 41 Then after them, We created other generations. 42 [for,] no community can ever forestall [the end of] its term - and neither can they delay [its coming]. 43 Then We sent our messengers one after another. Whenever its messenger came unto a nation they denied him; so We caused them to follow one another (to disaster) and We made them bywords. A far removal for folk who believe not! 44 Then We sent Moses and his brother Aaron with Our miracles and clear authority 45 To Pharaoh and his establishment, but they were arrogant and were a haughty people. 46 And they said: What! shall we believe in two mortals like ourselves while their people serve us? 47 So they cried them lies, and they were among the destroyed. 48 And We gave Moses the Book, in order that they might receive guidance. 49 And We made the son of Maryam (Mary) and his mother as a sign, And We gave them refuge on high ground, a place of rest, security and flowing streams. 50
