We created man -- We know the promptings of his soul, and are closer to him than his jugular vein -- 16 When the two Receivers receive (him), seated on the right hand and on the left, 17 each word he utters shall be noted down by a vigilant guardian. 18 And the hardship of death came with the truth; “This is what you were escaping from!” 19 And then the Trumpet was blown. This is the day of the promised chastisement. 20 And every soul shall come, with it a driver and a witness. 21 “You were indeed neglectful of this, so We have removed the veil for you, and your eyesight is sharp this day.” 22 And his comrade shall say, 'This is what I have, made ready.' 23 (And it is said): Do ye twain hurl to hell each rebel ingrate, 24 “The one who excessively prevented from virtue, the transgressor, the doubtful.” 25 "Who set up another ilah (god) with Allah, then (both of you) cast him in the severe torment." 26 ۞ and his associate [Satan] will say, "Lord, I did not make him transgress, he had already gone far astray himself." 27 Allah will say: wrangle not in My presence, and I had already proferred unto you the threat. 28 My word shall not be changed, nor am I in the least unjust to the servants. 29
