The people of Lot rejected the Messengers. 160 When their fellowman Lut said to them, “Do you not fear?” 161 “I am indeed a trustworthy Noble Messenger of Allah to you.” 162 So fear Allah, and obey me. 163 I ask of you no wage for this; my wage falls only upon the Lord of all Being. 164 What, do you come to male beings, 165 Leaving the consorts your Lord has made for you? But you are a people who exceed the bounds." 166 They said, 'If thou givest not over, Lot, thou shalt assuredly be one of the expelled.' 167 He said: I am in truth of those who hate your conduct. 168 My Lord! deliver me and my household from that which they work. 169 So We saved him and his whole family 170 Except an old woman (his wife) among those who remained behind. 171 Thereafter, We utterly destroyed the rest, 172 And We rained on them a rain (of torment). And how evil was the rain of those who had been warned. 173 Verily in this was a sign, but most of them do not believe. 174 But, verily, thy Sustainer - He alone - is almighty, a dispenser of grace! 175
