The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By those that pluck out vehemently 1 and those that blow gently, 2 by those that swim serenely 3 Then press forward as in a race, 4 And by those angels who arrange to do the Commands of their Lord, (so verily, you disbelievers will be called to account). 5 On the Day, the shiverer shivers 6 What must happen afterwards shall follow it. 7 On that Day some hearts shall tremble (with fright), 8 [and] their eyes downcast... 9 They say: 'What, are we being restored as we were before, 10 What! when we are rotten bones? 11 They say: "Then this returning will be a dead loss." 12 But verily, it will be but a single (Compelling) Cry, 13 And lo! they all shall appear on the surface. 14 Hath there come unto thee the history of Moses? 15 when his Lord called him in the holy valley of Tuwa, 16 saying 'Go to Pharaoh, he has become exceedingly insolent, 17 "And say to him, 'Wouldst thou that thou shouldst be purified (from sin)?- 18 and that I should guide thee to thy Lord, then thou shalt fear?"' 19 So he showed him the mighty sign. 20 But (Pharaoh) rejected it and disobeyed (guidance); 21 He then turned away, striving in his effort. 22 And he gathered [his people] and called out 23 “I am the supreme lord of you all.” 24 So Allah seized him with the punishment of the hereafter and the former life. 25 surely there is in this a lesson for the God-fearing. 26
