The Statute Book (Al-Furqaan)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
۞ Blest be He who hath revealed the Criterion unto His bondman that he may be unto the worlds a warner. 1 He to whom belongs the dominion of the heavens and the earth and who has not taken a son and has not had a partner in dominion and has created each thing and determined it with [precise] determination. 2 Yet they have taken besides Him other aliha (gods) that created nothing but are themselves created, and possess neither hurt nor benefit for themselves, and possess no power (of causing) death, nor (of giving) life, nor of raising the dead. 3 Moreover, those who are bent on denying the truth are wont to say: "This [Qur'an] is nothing but a lie, which he [himself] has devised with the help of other people, who thereupon have perverted the truth and brought a falsehood into being." 4 And they say: "Tales of the ancients, which he has caused to be written: and they are dictated before him morning and evening." 5 Say: "He who knows the secrets of the heavens and the earth has revealed it to me; and He is surely forgiving and kind." 6 And they say: "Why does this Messenger (Muhammad SAW) eat food, and walk about in the markets (like ourselves). Why is not an angel sent down to him to be a warner with him? 7 Or why has not at least a treasure been sent down for him or a garden given to him for (easy) sustenance?" And the wicked people say, "You are following a man bewitched." 8 See how they strike examples for you, surely they have gone astray and are unable to find a way. 9
