Say thou: I am but warner, and there is no god but Allah, the One, the Subduer. 65 He is the Lord of the heavens, the earth, and all that is between them, the Majestic and All-forgiving". 66 Say: "This is a momentous message, 67 “You are neglectful of it!” 68 I had no knowledge of the higher Assembly when they discussed it among themselves. 69 Naught is revealed to me save that I am a plain warner. 70 [For,] lo, thy Sustainer said unto the angels: "Behold, I am about to create a human being out of clay; 71 So when I have made him complete and breathed into him of My spirit, then fall down making obeisance to him. 72 Then the angels, all of them, prostrated themselves before Adam 73 save Iblis; he waxed proud, and was one of the unbelievers. 74 [Allah] said, "O Iblees, what prevented you from prostrating to that which I created with My hands? Were you arrogant [then], or were you [already] among the haughty?" 75 He said: "I am better than he. You created me from fire, and him from clay." 76 Said He: "Go forth, then, from this [angelic state] - for, behold, thou art henceforth accursed, 77 “And indeed My curse is upon you till the Day of Judgement.” 78 But Satan said, "My Lord, grant me respite until the Day of Resurrection," 79 (God) said: "You have the respite 80 Till the appointed day." 81 He (satan) said: 'I swear by Your Might, that I will seduce all of them 82 Save Thy single-minded slaves among them. 83 [And God] said: "This, then, is the truth! And this truth do I state: 84 “That I will fill hell with you and with those among them who follow you, all together.” 85 (O Prophet), tell them: “I do not ask you for any recompense for the performance of this task; nor am I given to affectation. 86 “It is not but an advice for the entire world.” 87 And ye shall surely come to know the truth thereof after a season. 88
