▼ 56 The Inevitable
Al-Waaqe'ah 2 of 3
These (people of the right hand) consist of many from the ancient 39 and a throng of the later folk. 40 As for the people on the left hand, how miserable they will be! 41 Amidst scorching wind and scalding water. 42 and a shade of thick, pitch-black smoke, 43 neither cold nor graceful in shape. 44 Lo! heretofore they were effete with luxury 45 But persisted in that greater sin, 46 And they used to say: What! when we die and have become dust and bones, shall we then indeed be raised? 47 Will our ancient forefathers be resurrected too? 48 Say: 'The ancients, and the later folk 49 shall all be brought together on an appointed Day. 50 Then you people who had gone astray and rejected the Truth 51 Most surely eat of a tree of Zaqqoom, 52 and will have to fill your bellies therewith, 53 And upon it, you will drink the hot boiling water. 54 Lapping it up like female camels raging of thirst with disease." 55 Such will be their welcome on Judgment Day! 56 It is We Who have created you: why will ye not witness the Truth? 57 Have ye seen that which ye emit? 58 Create him ye, or are We the Creator? 59 We have decreed death to you all, and We are not unable, 60 In that We will change your likenesses and produce you in that [form] which you do not know. 61 And certainly you know the first growth, why do you not then mind? 62 Behold! that which ye sow. 63 Is it you who makes it grow, or are We the grower? 64 If We pleased, We should have certainly made it broken down into pieces, then would you begin to lament: 65 (Saying), "We are indeed left with debts (for nothing): 66 nay; we have been undone!” 67 Have you seen the water which you drink? 68 Is it you that send it down from the clouds, or are We the senders? 69 Were it Our Will, We could make it salt (and unpalatable): then why do ye not give thanks? 70 Have you thought about the fire you kindle? 71 Is it you who have produced its tree or is it We who have produced it? 72 We have made it a reminder, and a blessing to the traveler. 73 (Muhammad), glorify your Lord, the Great One. 74

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
