Jinns (Al-Jinn)
28 verses, revealed in Mecca after A 'araaf (Al-A 'araaf) before Y S (Yaa Seen)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
۞ SAY: "I HAVE been informed that a number of jinns had listened; then said: 'We have heard the wondrous Qur'an, 1 which guides people to the right path and we believe in it. We shall never consider anyone equal to our Lord; 2 And [it teaches] that exalted is the nobleness of our Lord; He has not taken a wife or a son 3 And [now we know] that the foolish among us have been saying outrageous things about God. 4 'But we do think that no man or spirit should say aught that untrue against Allah. 5 Yet [it has always happened] that certain kinds of humans would seek refuge with certain kinds of [such] invisible forces: but these only increased their confusion 6 'And they thought as you thought, that Allah will not send any Messenger (to mankind or jinns). 7 'And we have sought to reach the heaven; but found it filled with stern guards and flaming fires. 8 and that “we would take up stations in the heaven to try to hear but anyone who now attempts to listen finds a shooting meteor in wait for him”; 9 And so we know not whether evil is intended for those in the earth, or whether their Lord intends for them rectitude. 10 Some of us are righteous, but some are otherwise, we are sects that differ. 11 And we know that we cannot escape from Allah in the earth, nor can we escape by flight. 12 ‘And that when we heard the guidance, we accepted faith in it; so whoever accepts faith in his Lord, has no fear neither of any loss nor of any injustice.’ 13 And among us are Muslims [in submission to Allah], and among us are the unjust. And whoever has become Muslim - those have sought out the right course. 14 And as for the deviators, for Hell they shall be fuel. 15 [KNOW,] THEN, that if they [who have heard Our call] keep firmly to the [right] path, We shall certainly shower them with blessings abundant, 16 and tested them with it. And whosoever turns away from his Lord's Remembrance, He will hurl him into a stern punishment. 17 Mosques belong to Allah, so do not call to anyone else, other than Allah. 18 "Yet when the Devotee of Allah stands forth to invoke Him, they just make round him a dense crowd." 19
