Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
I CALL TO WITNESS those who are sent consecutively, 1 By the raging hurricanes, 2 By those which cause earth's vegetation to revive; 3 separating one from another, 4 and those (angels) dropping, reminding 5 [promising] freedom from blame or [offering] a warning! 6 that which you have been promised shall be fulfilled. 7 So when the stars are made to lose their light, 8 And when the sky is riven asunder, 9 And when the mountains are made into dust and blown away. 10 And when the apostles are gathered at their appointed time 11 To what day is the doom fixed? 12 For the Day of Decision. 13 And what shall teach thee what is the Day of Decision? 14 Ruin is for the deniers on that day! 15 Did We not destroy the ancient people 16 So shall We make the later ones to follow them. 17 In this wise We do with the culprits. 18 Ruin is for the deniers on that day! 19 Did We not create you from an insignificant drop of fluid 20 The which We placed in a place of rest, firmly fixed, 21 till a known term decreed? 22 Thus did We Plan and how excellent is Our planning! 23 Woe that Day to the deniers (of the Day of Resurrection)! 24 Have We not made the earth (as a place) to draw together. 25 The living and the dead, 26 And have placed therein firm, and tall mountains; and have given you to drink sweet water? 27 Alas the woe that day for those who deny! 28 'Depart unto that which ye were wont to belie. 29 Depart to a triple-massing shadow 30 unshading against the blazing flame 31 Lo! it throweth up sparks like the castles, 32 (Or) as it might be camels of bright yellow hue. 33 Woe, that Day, to the deniers. 34 This is a day in which they will not be able to speak. 35 Nor will it be permitted for them to make an excuse. 36 Woe on that Day to those that give the lie to the Truth! 37 That is the Day of Judgement on which We have assembled you as well as all those who went before you. 38 If now ye have any wit, outwit Me. 39 Woe unto the repudiators on that day! 40
