The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
When the sun (with its spacious light) is folded up; 1 when the stars are thrown down, 2 The mountains made to move, 3 And when the camels are left untended, 4 And when the wild beasts shall be gathered together; 5 When the oceans surge and swell, 6 When the souls are sorted out, (being joined, like with like); 7 And when the girl-child who was buried alive is asked. 8 For what crime she was put to death; 9 And when the pages are laid open, 10 When the world on High is unveiled; 11 hell is made to blaze, 12 And Paradise brought near, 13 then shall each person know what he has brought along. 14 I swear by the receding stars, 15 That run their course (and) hide themselves, 16 and by the night as it recedes, 17 And by the morning when it shineth forth, 18 Verily it is a Word brought by a messenger honoured, 19 Full of power, well-established (in position) with the Lord and Master of the Throne, 20 (One) to be obeyed, and trustworthy; 21 Your companion is not one possessed: 22 And without doubt he saw him in the clear horizon. 23 And he is of the unseen not a tenacious concealer. 24 Nor is it the word of the cursed Shaitan, 25 So where are you going? 26 This is certainly the guidance for all (jinn and mankind). 27 So let those who want, choose the right guidance 28 And what will you wish, except if Allah wills – the Lord of the Creation. 29
