The Galaxies (Al-Burooj)
22 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Sun (Al-Shams) before The Fig (Al-Teen)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By the sky, (displaying) the Zodiacal Signs; 1 By the promised Day (of Judgment); 2 By one that witnesses, and the subject of the witness;- 3 the people of the pit were destroyed 4 the fire with its fuel, 5 When they sat by it, 6 Witnessing what they had done to the believers! 7 whom they hated for no other reason than that they believed in God, the Almighty, the Praiseworthy, 8 Who, to Whom belongs the dominion of the heavens and the earth! And Allah is Witness over everything. 9 Indeed, those who have tortured the believing men and believing women and then have not repented will have the punishment of Hell, and they will have the punishment of the Burning Fire. 10 Lo! those who believe and do good works, theirs will be Gardens underneath which rivers flow. That is the Great Success. 11 Stern indeed is your Lord's punishment. 12 Surely He it is Who originates and reproduces, 13 And He is the Fogiving, the Loving, 14 Honorable Owner of the Throne, 15 and the Most Effective in His decision. 16 Have you not heard about the stories of the armies 17 of the Pharaoh and Thamud? 18 Nay, but those who disbelieve live in denial 19 But God surrounds them from all sides. 20 It is indeed a glorious Quran, 21 inscribed on a well-guarded Tablet. 22
God Almighty has spoken the truth.

(1) وقف لازم، حيث يستخدم الرسم الإنجليزي نقطة وقف. (2) وقف جائز مع الوقف أولى، حيث يستخدم الرسم الإنجليزي فاصلة قد تظهر باحتمال الثلثين. When reading the Colorful Quran in English transliterated Arabic mode, you may not notice that there is an algorithm designed to match the pause requirements of the original Arabic scripture, (waqf signs). As you may know, the original Arabic Quran has five main types of pauses, (waqf) signs. (1) Compulsory break, where the transliteration uses a full stop. (2) Optional pause with the preference for pausing, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a probability of two thirds. (3) Optional stop with an equal preference for pausing and resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a half-half probability. (4) Optional pause with the preference for resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a chance of one third. (5) Attraction pause, also called hugging, or (mu’anaka) sign, where it is compulsory to pause at either one of two nearby positions, but not both; where the transliteration inserts a comma at either one of the two locations with a half-half probability.
