The All High (Al-A'alaa)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
۞ EXTOL the limitless glory of thy Sustainer's name: [the glory of] the Al-Highest, 1 Who createth, then disposeth; 2 And the One Who kept proper measure and then guided. 3 It is He who has caused the grass to grow, 4 then made it dry dark, flaky stubble, 5 We shall enable thee to recite, and then thou shalt not forget, 6 Save that which Allah may will. Verily He knoweth the public and that which is hidden. 7 We shall ease you to the easy. 8 Therefore remind, if the Reminder profits, 9 He who fears [Allah] will be reminded. 10 And the most unfortunate one will avoid it, 11 Who will enter the Great Fire, 12 wherein they will neither live nor die. 13 He indeed hath attained bliss who hath cleansed himself, 14 And glorify the name of their Guardian-Lord, and (lift their hearts) in prayer. 15 But nay, [O men,] you prefer the life of this world, 16 even though the life hereafter will be better and will last forever. 17 Lo! This is in the former scrolls. 18 Writs of Ibrahim and Musa. 19
