'This', said he (Pharaoh) to his Council, 'is a cunning sorcerer 34 He wants to expel you from your land through his magic. What is your opinion?" 35 They said: "Detain him and his brother for a while and send forth heralds to the cities 36 who shall bring to you every skilful sorcerer." 37 So all the magicians gathered together at the appointed time 38 And the people were told: "Are ye (now) assembled?- 39 The people said, “Perhaps we may follow the magicians if they are victorious.” 40 And when the magicians came, they said to Firon: Shall we get a reward if we are the vanquishers? 41 He said, “Yes, and you will then become close to me.” 42 [And] Moses said unto them: "Throw whatever you are going to throw!" 43 So they cast down their ropes and staffs saying, "By the honor of the Pharaoh we shall certainly become the winners". 44 [But] then Moses threw his staff - and lo! it swallowed up all their deceptions. 45 And the wizards were flung prostrate, 46 They said: we believe in the Lord of the worlds. 47 The Lord of Musa and Haroun. 48 Said [Pharaoh]: "Have you come to believe in him ere I have given you permission? Verily, he must be your master who has taught you magic! But in time you shall come to know [my revenge]: most certainly shall I cut off your hands and your feet in great numbers, because of [your] perverseness, and shall most certainly crucify you in great numbers, all together!" 49 They said, "No harm. Indeed, to our Lord we will return. 50 We certainly hope our Lord will forgive our sins as we are the first to believe." 51

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
