3/4 Hizb 45
< random >
And Noah verily prayed unto Us, and gracious was the Hearer of his prayer 75 We saved him and his people from the great distress, 76 And We made his offspring the survivors. 77 And left for him (a goodly remembrance) among generations to come in later times: 78 'Peace be upon Noah among all the worlds' 79 Verily, thus do We reward the doers of good 80 He is indeed one of Our high ranking, firmly believing bondmen. 81 Thereafter We caused the others to be drowned. 82 ۞ Abraham was of the same faith: 83 when he came unto his Lord with a pure heart, 84 When he said to his father and his people: "What is this you worship? 85 Is it false deities that you want to serve rather than Allah? 86 What, then, do you think of the Sustainer of all the worlds?" 87 Then he looked carefully at the stars 88 and said: 'Surely, I am sick (of what you worship)' 89 And they turned their backs and went away from him. 90 and he turned to their idols and asked them, "Do you eat? 91 What is the matter with you, why do you not speak?” 92 then he turned on them, striking them down with his right hand. 93 whereupon people came to him running. 94 Said he: What! do you worship what you hew out? 95 While Allah created you and that which you do?" 96 They said: Build for him a furnace, then cast him into the burning fire. 97 Their desire was to outwit him, but We made them to be the humiliated. 98 He said, "I will go to my Lord: He is sure to guide me. 99 My Lord, grant me a righteous (son)' 100 We therefore gave him the glad tidings of an intelligent son. 101 And, when he (his son) was old enough to walk with him, he said: "O my son! I have seen in a dream that I am slaughtering you (offer you in sacrifice to Allah), so look what you think!" He said: "O my father! Do that which you are commanded, Insha' Allah (if Allah will), you shall find me of As-Sabirin (the patient ones, etc.)." 102 But as soon as the two had surrendered themselves to [what they thought to be] the will of God, and [Abraham] had laid him down on his face, 103 And We called out to him, “O Ibrahim!” 104 You have fulfilled your dream." Thus do We reward the good. 105 This was indeed a plain trial. 106 And We ransomed him with a great sacrifice (i.e. a ram); 107 And left (his hallowed memory) for posterity. 108 'Peace be upon Abraham!' 109 Even so We recompense the good-doers; 110 For he was one of our believing Servants. 111 And We gave him the good news of Isaac, a Prophet and among the righteous ones. 112 And We sent blessings upon him and Ishaq; and among their descendants some who do good deeds, and some who clearly wrong themselves. 113
