Elucidated (Fussilat)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
Ha Mim. 1 THE BESTOWAL from on high [of this revelation] issues from the Most Gracious, the Dispenser of Grace: 2 A Book whereof the Verses are explained in detail; A Quran in Arabic for people who know. 3 It bears glad tidings and a warning, yet most of them turn away and do not listen. 4 They say, 'Our hearts are veiled from what thou callest us to, and in our ears is a heaviness, and between us and thee there is a veil; so act; we are acting!' 5 Say: "I am a man like you, (but) it is revealed to me that your God is one God, so take the straight path to Him, and ask Him to forgive your sins. Woe to the idolaters 6 Who give not the poor-due, and who are disbelievers in the Hereafter. 7 Surely those who believe, and do righteous deeds shall have a wage unfailing.' 8
