The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ WHEN THE SKY is cleft asunder, 1 in obedience to the commands of their Lord which are incumbent on them, 2 And when the earth is flattened out, 3 and casts out what is within it and is emptied, 4 And it listens to the command of its Lord – and that befits it. 5 O man, indeed you have to surely run towards your Lord, and to meet him. 6 So whoever is given his record of deeds in his right hand – 7 will be easy, 8 and he will return to his family joyfully. 9 but as for him whose record shall be given to him from behind his back, 10 he shall call for destruction 11 And shall enter a blazing Fire, and made to taste its burning. 12 Once, he lived joyfully among his family 13 and surely thought he would never return (to his Lord). 14 Yea! his Lord had ever been beholding him. 15 Nay; I swear by the twilight; 16 And the night and that which it drives on, 17 and the moon, as it grows to its fullness: 18 that you shall surely ride from stage to stage. 19 But what is the matter with them that they do not believe, 20 And when the Quran is recited to them they do not make obeisance? ۩ 21 In fact the disbelievers keep denying. 22 And Allah is most knowing of what they keep within themselves. 23 So give them the good news of a painful chastisement, 24 Except those who believed and did good deeds – for them is a reward that will never end. 25
