۞ (And it is said unto the angels): Assemble those who did wrong, together with their wives and what they used to worship 22 instead of God, and lead them all onto the way to the blazing fire, 23 and detain them there; they will be called to account. 24 “What is the matter with you, that you do not help one another?” 25 indeed, on that Day they will surrender themselves. 26 And they will turn to one another, and question one another. 27 (The followers will say to their leaders): “You used to come to us from the right hand.” 28 They will say: “Nay, you yourselves were not the ones who would believe. 29 "And we had no authority over you. Nay! But you were transgressing people (disobedient, polytheists, and disbelievers). 30 "So now the Word of our Lord has been justified against us, that we shall certainly (have to) taste (the torment). 31 We seduced you astray; verily we were ourselves the seduced ones. 32 So, they will become partners in punishment. 33 Verily We! in this wise We deal with the culprits. 34 For when it was said to them: 'There is no god except Allah' they were always proud 35 And say: "What! shall we give up our gods for the sake of a Poet possessed?" 36 Nay! he has come with the (very) Truth, and he confirms (the Message of) the messengers (before him). 37 You shall certainly taste the painful punishment: 38 And be rewarded but only for what you had done, 39 Except for God's sincere servants; 40 there is waiting for them a known provision; 41 fruits of various kinds; and they shall be honoured, 42 in the Gardens of Bliss, 43 Facing each other on Thrones (of Dignity): 44 They will be served with a cup full of crystal clear wine, 45 white and delicious to those who drink it, 46 Wherein there is no headache nor are they made mad thereby. 47 And with them will be mates of modest gaze, most beautiful of eye, 48 who are as chaste as sheltered eggs. 49 Then one turned to the other in an enquiry. 50 The speaker among them said, “I had a companion.” 51 who used to ask, 'Do you really believe that 52 What, when we are dead and become dust and bones, shall we indeed be requited?" 53 He shall say: Will you look on? 54 Then he will look downwards, and will see him in the depths of Hell. 55 He will say, "By God! You almost brought me to ruin! 56 "Had it not been for the Grace of my Lord, I would certainly have been among those brought forth (to Hell)." 57 So, are we not going to die, 58 and that we would not be punished?" 59 This will indeed be great happiness. 60 For the like of this, then, let them labour, those who labour [in God's way]! 61 Is that better by way of hospitality or the Zaqqum tree, 62 Indeed, We have made it a torment for the wrongdoers. 63 Verily, it is a tree that springs out of the bottom of Hell-fire, 64 Its emerging fruit as if it was heads of the devils. 65 Truly they will eat thereof and fill their bellies therewith. 66 Then they will have on top of it a mixture of boiling water. 67 Then indeed, their return will be to the Hellfire. 68 Verily, they found their fathers on the wrong path; 69 and [now] they make haste to follow in their footsteps! 70 And assuredly there went stray before them many of the ancients. 71 and We had sent among them Messengers to warn them. 72 Then see the nature of the consequence for those warned, 73 Save single-minded slaves of Allah. 74
