The News (Al-Naba')
40 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Heights (Al-Ma'aarej) before The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ OF WHAT ARE they asking one another? 1 About the great news - 2 About which they cannot agree. 3 No indeed; soon will they come to know; 4 Again, by no means! anon they shall know. 5 Have We not made the earth as a place to rest 6 and the mountains as pegs? 7 And We created you in pairs, 8 And made your sleep a rest. 9 and made the night [its] cloak 10 And have made the day for livelihood. 11 And We have built above you seven strong ones, 12 and placed in them a blazing lamp 13 and have sent down out of the rainclouds water cascading 14 That We may produce therewith corn and vegetables, 15 And gardens of thick growth. 16 Surely, the Day of Judgement has an appointed time. 17 the Day when the Trumpet shall be blown, and you will come forth in multitudes; 18 And the heaven will be opened – it therefore becomes like gates. 19 and the mountains are set in motion, and become a vapour. 20 Indeed hell is lying in ambush. 21 A dwelling place for the Taghun (those who transgress the boundry limits set by Allah like polytheists, disbelievers in the Oneness of Allah, hyprocrites, sinners, criminals, etc.), 22 where they shall remain for ages, 23 they shall taste in it no coolness, nor any pleasant drink 24 Except scalding water and [foul] purulence - 25 a befitting recompense for their deeds. 26 For verily, they used not to look for a reckoning. 27 having given the lie to Our messages one and all: 28 And We have recorded everything in a book, 29 So taste (of that which ye have earned). No increase do We give you save of torment. 30

كيف تعمل منظومة تمارين الحفظ؟ عند أدنى مستوى 0، تكون كل الكلمات ظاهرة. بينما يُخفي أعلى مستوى 9 كل الكلمات. فكيف تعمل المستويات المتوسطة، مثل 3، على سبيل المثال؟ قد تعتقد بأن المنظومة تخفي 3 من كل تسع كلمات بدقة. ليس تماما! في المستوى 3، لكل كلمة فرصة اختفاء بنسبة 3 من 9، و6 من 9 لتكون ظاهرة. بمعنى آخر، من الممكن، ولكن باحتمال شبة معدوم، أن تكون جميع كلمات المستوى 3 مخفية، أو أن تكون جميعها ظاهرة! وكذلك أيضًا، ففي المستويات المتوسطة، وبما يتناسب مع مستوى الصعوبة، يمكن أن تكون المخابئ غير كاملة أو شفافة جزئيًا بحيث تظهر الكلمات جزئيًا تحتها.
How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
