Messengers! Eat of that which is good and do good deeds; I have knowledge of the things you do. 51 And verily this religion of yours is one religion, and I am your Lord, so fear Me. 52 But people have cut off their affair (of unity), between them, into sects: each party rejoices in that which is with itself. 53 So leave them in their confusion for a time. 54 Do they think that by increasing their wealth and children 55 We are hastening to them of good things? Nay, they do not perceive. 56 Surely those who stand in awe for fear of their Lord, 57 And those who in the signs of their Lord do believe. 58 And those who join not anyone (in worship) as partners with their Lord; 59 and who give whatever they [have to] give with their hearts trembling at the thought that unto their Sustainer they must return: 60 those, hasten in good works, outracing to them. 61 And We do not burden any soul beyond its capacity, and with Us is a Book* that speaks the truth, and they will not be wronged. (* The preserved tablet or the record of one’s deeds.) 62 Nay, but their hearts are covered (blind) from understanding this (the Quran), and they have other (evil) deeds, besides, which they are doing. 63 Until when We seize their affluent ones with punishment, at once they are crying [to Allah] for help. 64 Cry not for succor this day; surely you shall not be given help from Us. 65 My Signs were rehearsed to you and you turned back on your heels and took to flight, 66 In arrogance regarding it, conversing by night, speaking evil. 67 Then have they not reflected over the Qur'an, or has there come to them that which had not come to their forefathers? 68 Or is it, perchance, that they have not recognized their Apostle, and so they disavow him? 69 Or do they say: There is madness in him? Nay! he has brought them the truth, and most of them are averse from the truth. 70 And should the truth follow their low desires, surely the heavens and the earth and all those who are therein would have perished. Nay! We have brought to them their reminder, but from their reminder they turn aside. 71 Are you asking them for something? What Allah has given you is the best. He is the Best of providers. 72 You are surely calling them to the right path. 73 And verily those who believe not in the Hereafter are from the path deviating. 74 ۞ And even if We gave them mercy and removed what was upon them of affliction, they would persist in their transgression, wandering blindly. 75 Already have We grasped them with punishment, but they humble not themselves unto their Lord, nor do they pray, 76 until We opened upon them the door of a severe chastisement. Then lo, in this state they become utterly despaired of any good. 77
