3/4 Hizb 45
< random >
And indeed, [it was for this reason that] Noah cried unto Us - and how excellent was Our response: 75 And We delivered him and his followers from the mighty distress. 76 and caused his offspring to endure [on earth]; 77 And left for him [favorable mention] among later generations: 78 Peace be on Nuh among the worlds. 79 Thus do We reward all those who do good. 80 for he was truly one of our believing servants: 81 Then We drowned the others 82 ۞ Abraham was of the same faith: 83 When he came to his Lord with a sound heart 84 [And] when he said to his father and his people, "What do you worship? 85 Is it a falsehood - gods beside Allah - that ye desire? 86 What then is your opinion of the Lord of the Worlds? 87 Then he looked up at the stars (they worshipped), 88 and he said, 'Surely I am sick.' 89 And they turned their backs on him and went away. (The pagans thought he would transmit the disease). 90 Then he turned to their gods, and said, 'What do you eat? 91 What aileth ye that ye speak not? 92 Then he turned upon them, striking (them) with (his) right hand. 93 Then the people came toward him, hastening. 94 He said, 'Do you serve what you hew, 95 the while it is God who has created you and all your handiwork?" 96 They exclaimed: "Build a pyre for him, and cast him into the blazing fire!" 97 They plotted against him, but We brought humiliation upon them. 98 He said: 'I will go to my Lord; He will guide me. 99 "O my Lord! Grant me a righteous (son)!" 100 We therefore gave him the glad tidings of an intelligent son. 101 And when he attained the age of running with him, he said: O my son! verily I have seen in a dream that I am slaughtering thee; so look, what considerest thou? He said: O my father! do that which thou art commanded; thou shalt find me, Allah willing, of the patients. 102 When they submitted to the will of God, and (Abraham) laid (his son) down prostrate on his temple, 103 And We called out to him saying: O Ibrahim! 104 thou hast already fulfilled [the purpose of] that dream-vision!" Thus, verily, do We reward the doers of good: 105 Most surely this is a manifest trial. 106 And We rescued him in exchange of a great sacrifice. (The sacrifice of Ibrahim and Ismail peace be upon them is commemorated every year on 10, 11 and 12 Zil Haj). 107 And We kept his praise among the latter generations. 108 Peace be on Abraham. 109 Thus do We reward the doers of good 110 he was among Our believing servants. 111 And We gave him the glad tidings of Ishaq, a Herald of the Hidden, from among those who deserve Our proximity. 112 We had blessed him and Isaac. Some of their offspring were righteous and others were openly unjust to themselves. 113
