The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
I CALL TO WITNESS those who dive and drag, 1 by the angels who gently release the souls of the believers, 2 And those who glide swimmingly, 3 And those who race each other in a race 4 And then they manage the affair, 5 On the day when the first trump resoundeth. 6 and the second blast follows it, 7 On that Day will [men's] hearts be throbbing, 8 Their eyes cast down. 9 They say: "Shall we go back to our original state 10 after we have become bones and dust?" 11 They say, "That, then, would be a losing return." 12 However, it will only take a single blast 13 So they will immediately be in an open plain. 14 Have you received the story of Moses? 15 when his Lord called him in the holy valley of Tuwa, 16 "Go unto Pharaoh - for, verily, he has transgressed all bounds of what is right 17 And say (unto him): Hast thou (will) to grow (in grace)? 18 And that I guide you to your Lord, so you should fear Him? 19 Moses showed him the great miracle 20 But (Pharaoh) rejected it and disobeyed (guidance); 21 and hastily turned away, 22 So he gathered the people, and proclaimed. 23 Saying: "I am your lord, most high", 24 So Allah seized him with the punishment of the hereafter and the former life. 25 Lo! herein is indeed a lesson for him who feareth. 26
