And the people of the Hijr (rocks) denied the Noble Messengers. 80 We brought them signs, but they turned away. 81 They used to hew out houses from the mountains and lived in security. 82 Then the shout took hold of them in the early morn. 83 And what they earned did not avail them. 84 AND [remember:] We have not created the heavens and the earth and all that is between them without [an inner] truth; but, behold, the Hour [when this will become clear to all] is indeed yet to come. Hence, forgive [men's failings] with fair forbearance: 85 For verily it is thy Lord who is the Master-Creator, knowing all things. 86 And certainly We have given you seven of the oft-repeated (verses) and the grand Quran. 87 Do not direct your eyes towards the things We have given to some of their couples to enjoy, and do not at all grieve because of them, and take the Muslims within the folds of your mercy. 88 And proclaim, “Indeed I, yes I, am the clear Herald of Warning.” 89 So We sent it down to the partitioners, 90 Those who made the Quran into shreds. 91 But, by thy Sustainer! [On the Day of Judgment] We shall indeed call them to account, one and all, 92 for what they have done 93 Preach what you have been commanded to and stay away from the pagans. 94 Lo! We defend thee from the scoffers, 95 Who make [equal] with Allah another deity. But they are going to know. 96 We certainly know that their statements sorely grieve you. 97 So hallow thou the praise of thy Lord, and be thou of the prostrate. 98 And worship thy Lord until there cometh unto thee the certainty. 99
