The Prophets (Al-Anbyaa')
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ The time of reckoning has drawn near for mankind, yet they are heedless and turn away. 1 There cometh not unto them a fresh admonition from their Lord but they listen to it while they are playing. 2 their hearts being set on other concerns. The wrong-doers whisper to one another: "This person is no more than a mortal like yourselves. Will you, then, be enchanted by sorcery while you see?" 3 He said: "My Lord knows whatever is spoken in the heavens and the earth. He hears all and knows everything." 4 They say: "Nay, these are confused dreams; nay, he has forged it; nay, he is a poet. So let him bring us a sign, even as the Messengers of the past were sent with signs." 5 Not one city that We destroyed before them believed; what then, will they not believe? 6 And We sent not before you (O Muhammad SAW) but men to whom We inspired, so ask the people of the Reminder [Scriptures - the Taurat (Torah), the Injeel (Gospel)] if you do not know. 7 And We did not make the prophets forms not eating food, nor were they immortal [on earth]. 8 Then We fulfilled to them the promise, and We saved them and those whom We willed, but We destroyed Al-Musrifun (i.e. extravagants in oppression, polytheism and in sin). 9 We have bestowed upon you a Book that mentions you. Do you not understand? 10
