The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ When the sky bursts open, 1 obeying its Sustainer, as in truth it must; 2 And when the earth is spread out. 3 And casts forth what is within it and becomes (clean) empty, 4 and hearkens to the command of its Lord, doing what it should. 5 O thou man! Verily thou art ever toiling on towards thy Lord- painfully toiling,- but thou shalt meet Him. 6 he who is given his record in his right hand 7 will be easy, 8 And he will return to his family rejoicing. 9 But as for those whose Book of records will be given behind their backs, 10 they will say, "Woe to us!" 11 And enter into burning fire. 12 They lived among their people joyfully 13 He verily deemed that he would never return (unto Allah). 14 This is a fact. Their Lord is Well-Aware of (all that they do). 15 So I swear by the twilight glow 16 And by the night and all that it enshroudeth, 17 by the moon, in its fullness 18 That ye shall journey on from plane to plane. 19 What is the matter with them, that they believe not? 20 And when the Qur’an is recited to them, they do not fall prostrate? (Command of Prostration # 13) ۩ 21 Instead, the unbelievers reject it, calling it a lie. 22 God is quite aware of what they are storing in their hearts. 23 So announce to them a Penalty Grievous, 24 except for those who believe and do good deeds. Theirs shall be an unending reward. 25
