Thorns (Al-Masad)

5 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Key (Al-Faatehah) before The Rolling (Al-Takweer)

In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful

Perish the hands of Abu Lahab, and perish he! 1 Neither his wealth nor his gains will avail him. 2 he shall roast at a flaming fire 3 And his wife [as well] - the carrier of firewood. 4 Around her neck is a rope of [twisted] fiber. 5

True are the words of God the Almighty.
