Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
60 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Dunes (Al-Ahqaaf) before Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
I CALL TO witness those who scatter (dust) by dispersing, 1 Then by oath of those which carry the burdens. 2 by the ships which smoothly sail on the oceans, 3 by the angels which distribute the affairs, 4 What you are threatened with is most surely true, 5 and the Day of Judgment will inevitably take place. 6 By the heaven full of paths. 7 Verily, [O men,] you are deeply at variance as to what to believe: 8 From which only he turns who is turned away. 9 Perish the conjecturers 10 Who are within a flood [of confusion] and heedless. 11 asking, 'When shall be the Day of Doom?' 12 On the Day of Judgment they will be punished by the fire 13 And it will be said to them, “Taste your own roasting; this is what you were impatient for.” 14 Verily the God-fearing will be amid Gardens and water-springs. 15 Taking that which their Lord giveth them; for lo! aforetime they were doers of good; 16 They used to sleep but little of the night, 17 And in the hours before dawn, they were (found) asking (Allah) for forgiveness, 18 and in their wealth was a share for whosoever asked and for whosoever was prevented. 19 And on the earth there are signs for those who would be convinced. 20 And in yourselves. Then will you not see? 21 And in heaven is your Sustenance, as (also) that which ye are promised. 22 So by the Lord of heaven and earth, it is as true as your speech. 23

When reading the Colorful Quran in English transliterated Arabic mode, you may not notice that there is an algorithm designed to match the pause requirements of the original Arabic scripture, (waqf signs). As you may know, the original Arabic Quran has five main types of pauses, (waqf) signs. (1) Compulsory break, where the transliteration uses a full stop. (2) Optional pause with the preference for pausing, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a probability of two thirds. (3) Optional stop with an equal preference for pausing and resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a half-half probability. (4) Optional pause with the preference for resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a chance of one third. (5) Attraction pause, also called hugging, or (mu’anaka) sign, where it is compulsory to pause at either one of two nearby positions, but not both; where the transliteration inserts a comma at either one of the two locations with a half-half probability.
