A 'araaf (Al-A 'araaf)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ Alif, Lam, Mim, Sad. 1 A Book revealed unto thee,- So let thy heart be oppressed no more by any difficulty on that account,- that with it thou mightest warn (the erring) and teach the Believers). 2 Follow that which is sent down to you from your Lord and do not follow guardians other than Him; little do you remember. 3 How many cities have We destroyed! Our wrath struck their people at night or during their midday siesta. 4 No plea had they, when Our terror came unto them, save that they said: Lo! We were wrong-doers. 5 Then shall We question those to whom Our message was sent and those through whom We sent it 6 With knowledge We will narrate to them, for We are never absent. 7 And the weighing on that Day is certain, then whosesoever balances will be heavy, those! they shall fare well. 8 As for those whose bad deeds weigh heavier, they will lose their souls for their injustice to Our revelations. 9 And indeed We established you in the earth and in it created for you the means of livelihood; very little thanks do you offer! 10
