Al-Hijjr 3 of 6
And certainly We created man of clay that gives forth sound, of black mud fashioned in shape. 26 while We had brought the jinn into being before out of blazing fire. 27 And (remember) when thy Lord said unto the angels: Lo! I am creating a mortal out of potter's clay of black mud altered, 28 When I have completed shaping him and have breathed into him of My Spirit, then fall you down before him in prostration." 29 So the angels prostrated themselves, all of them together. 30 save Iblis; he refused to be among those bowing. 31 He said: 'iblis, what is the matter with you, that you do you not prostrate yourself' 32 He said, "Never would I prostrate to a human whom You created out of clay from an altered black mud." 33 He said: Then get out of it, for surely you are driven away: 34 "And verily, the curse shall be upon you till the Day of Recompense (i.e. the Day of Resurrection)." 35 "O my Lord," said he, "give me respite till the day the dead are raised." 36 He said, "You are granted respite 37 until the day of a known time." 38 He said: my Lord! because Thou hast led me to err I will surely make things fairseeming unto them on the earth and will surely seduce them all: 39 [all] save such of them as are truly Thy servants!" 40 (Allah) said: "This (way of My sincere servants) is indeed a way that leads straight to Me. 41 Surely, you shall have no power over My true servants, except those misguided ones who choose to follow you. 42 And verily, Hell is the promised abode for them all! 43 "It (Hell) has seven gates, for each of those gates is a (special) class (of sinners) assigned. 44

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
