And when thy Lord called Moses, saying: Go unto the wrongdoing folk, 10 The people of Fir'awn; fear they Me not? 11 He said: O my Lord! surely I fear that they will reject me; 12 and then my breast will be straitened and my tongue will not be free: send, then, [this Thy command] to Aaron. 13 As for me, they hold the charge of a crime against me. I fear they will put me to death." 14 He said: By no means, so go you both with Our signs; surely We are with you, hearing; 15 "And when you both come to Fir'aun (Pharaoh), say: 'We are the Messengers of the Lord of the 'Alamin (mankind, jinns and all that exists), 16 That you should send the children of Israel with us.' 17 Pharaoh said to Moses, "Did we not bring you up among us as a child? And you spent several years of your life with us. 18 Yet you were ungrateful and have done the deed you did' 19 He said: I did it then while I was of those unable to see the right course; 20 So I fled from you when I feared you, then my Lord granted me wisdom and made me of the apostles; 21 “And is this some great reward for which you express favour upon me – that you have enslaved the Descendants of Israel?” 22 Pharaoh said: And what is the Lord of the Worlds? 23 He said: The Lord of the heavens and the earth and what is between them, if you would be sure. 24 Fir'aun (Pharaoh) said to those around: "Do you not hear (what he says)?" 25 Musa (Moses) said: "Your Lord and the Lord of your ancient fathers!" 26 (Pharaoh) said: Lo! your messenger who hath been sent unto you is indeed a madman! 27 'He is the Lord of the East and the West' said he (Moses), 'and all that is between them, if you could understand' 28 (Pharaoh) said: If thou choosest a god other than me, I assuredly shall place thee among the prisoners. 29 Said he: "Even if I should bring about before thee something that clearly shows the truth?" 30 Said he, 'Bring it then, if thou art of the truthful.' 31 So (Moses) cast his staff, and lo, it turned into a living serpent. 32 And he drew forth his hand, and lo! it appeared white to the onlookers. 33
