Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
۞ I swear by the Day of Resurrection 1 Nay, I swear by the accusing soul (that this Scripture is true). 2 Do men think that We shall never be able to assemble their bones? 3 Indeed, We have the power to restore his very finger tips! 4 Nay, but man desires to continue on as a libertine, 5 He asks: “When will the Day of Resurrection be?” 6 So, when the sight shall be dazed, 7 And the moon darkens 8 and the sun and the moon are brought together 9 That day man will say: "Where can I find escape?" 10 No indeed; not a refuge! 11 To your Lord, that Day, is the [place of] permanence. 12 Upon that day man shall be told his former deeds and his latter; 13 In fact, man himself is keeping an eye on his state of affairs! 14 even though he offers his excuses. 15 O dear Prophet (Mohammed – peace and blessings be upon him), do not cause your tongue to move along with the Qur’an in order to learn it faster. 16 Indeed assembling the Qur’an and reading it are upon Us. 17 And when We read it, follow thou the reading; 18 Again on Us (devolves) the explaining of it. 19 NAY, but [most of] you love this fleeting life, 20 and neglect the life to come. 21 [Some] faces, that Day, will be radiant, 22 gazing upon their Lord; 23 and some faces on that Day will be gloomy, 24 certain of facing a great calamity. 25 Yea, when (the soul) reaches to the collar-bone (in its exit), 26 And men say: Where is the wizard (who can save him now)? 27 and when he thinks it is the time of departure 28 and is enwrapped in the pangs of death 29 unto thy Lord that Day is the drive. 30
