3/4 Hizb 45
< random >
Noah cried to Us, and how excellent was Our response! 75 We delivered him and his household from the great calamity; 76 And made his progeny to endure (on this earth); 77 And We left (this blessing) for him among generations to come in later times: 78 "Peace be upon Noah throughout all the worlds!" 79 Verily We! thus We recompense the well-doers. 80 Surely he was of Our believing servants. 81 Then the rest we overwhelmed in the Flood. 82 ۞ Abraham was of the same faith: 83 When he came to his Lord with a heart compliant, 84 When he said to his father (paternal uncle) and his people, “What do you worship?” 85 Is it falsehood [as] gods other than Allah you desire? 86 What do you imagine the Lord of the worlds to be?" 87 Then he looked at the stars, looking up once, 88 He then said, “I feel sick (of you)!” 89 But they went away from him, turning their backs. 90 Then did he turn to their gods and said, "will ye not eat (of the offerings before you)?... 91 What is the matter with you that you do not speak?" 92 And then he fell upon them, smiting them with his right hand. 93 So the people descended upon him. 94 He said, "Do you worship that which you [yourselves] carve, 95 and God created you and what you make?' 96 They said, "Let us build a fire and throw him into the flames". 97 (This failing), they then sought a stratagem against him, but We made them the ones most humiliated! 98 Abraham said: “I am going to my Lord; He will guide me. 99 "My Lord! Grant me (offspring) from the righteous." 100 So We gave him the good news of a boy, possessing forbearance. 101 When he was old enough to go about with him, he said: "O my son, I dreamt that I was sacrificing you. Consider, what you think?" He replied: "Father, do as you are commanded. If God pleases you will find me firm." 102 But as soon as the two had surrendered themselves to [what they thought to be] the will of God, and [Abraham] had laid him down on his face, 103 We called unto him, 'Abraham, 104 You have fulfilled the vision." Indeed, We thus reward the doers of good. 105 Verily, that indeed was a manifest trial 106 And We ransomed him with a momentous sacrifice: 107 And We perpetuated (praise) to him among the later generations. 108 "Peace upon Abraham." 109 Indeed, We thus reward the doers of good. 110 Verily, he was one of Our believing slaves. 111 And We gave him the glad tidings of Is-haq, a prophet, and of the righteous. 112 and blessed him and Isaac too: some of their offspring were good, but some clearly sinned against their souls. 113
