1/2 Hizb 45

۞ (God will command the angels), "Gather together the unjust, their spouses, and what they had worshipped 22 instead of God, and lead them all onto the way to the blazing fire, 23 And stop them; verily they are to be questioned: 24 'Why do you not help one another? 25 No indeed; but today they resign themselves in submission 26 And some of them shall advance towards others, questioning each other. 27 They say: Lo! ye used to come unto us, imposing, (swearing that ye spoke the truth). 28 [To which] the others will reply: "Nay, you yourselves were bereft of all faith! 29 We had no power over you. In fact, you were a people rebellious. 30 The statement of Our Lord is realized against us, and we are tasting it, 31 So then, [if it be true that] we have caused you to err grievously - behold, we ourselves had been lost in grievous error!" 32 So verily on that Day they all in the torment will be sharers. 33 Indeed, that is how We deal with the criminals. 34 for when it was said to them, 'There is no god but God,' they were ever waxing proud, 35 And said: Shall we forsake our gods for a mad poet? 36 Nay, but he [whom you call a mad poet] has brought the truth; and he confirms the truth of [what the earlier of God's] message-bearers [have taught]. 37 (They will be told), "You will certainly suffer the painful torment 38 and not be recompensed, except according to what you were doing.' 39 Save the servants of Allah, the purified ones. 40 Those! theirs shall be a provision known: 41 Fruits; and they shall be honoured, 42 In the Gardens of delight, 43 Facing one another on thrones, 44 a cup from a spring being passed round to them, 45 White and delicious to the drinkers; 46 Free from headiness; nor will they suffer intoxication therefrom. 47 And with them will be maidens (houris) who restrain their wide glances 48 (Pure) as they were hidden eggs (of the ostrich). 49 They will turn to each other and ask questions. 50 And a speaker from among them will say: verily there was unto me a mate. 51 “Who used to tell me, ‘Do you believe it is true?’ 52 [that] after we have died and become mere dust and bones we shall, forsooth, be brought to judgment?"' 53 Allah will say: will ye look down? 54 And he will look and see him in the midst of the Hellfire. 55 and says: "By God! Verily, thou hast almost destroyed me [too, O my erstwhile companion] 56 If not for the favor of my Lord, I would have been of those brought in [to Hell]. 57 Is it then that we are not going to die, 58 Saving our former death, and are we not to be punished? 59 Verily this is the supreme achievement! 60 For the like of this, then, let the workers work. 61 Is that better by way of hospitality or the Zaqqum tree, 62 We have made this (tree) a trial for the evildoers. 63 Indeed it is a tree that sprouts from the base of hell. 64 The shoots of its fruit-stalks are like the heads of devils: 65 (The people of Hell) will surely eat of it, filling their bellies with it. 66 Washing it down with boiling water. 67 Then to Hell they will surely be returned. 68 They found their father going astray 69 So in their footsteps they are being hastened on. 70 Most of the ancient people had also gone astray. 71 And verily We sent among them warners. 72 Observe, then, what was the end of those that had been warned, 73 Other than the chosen creatures of God. 74
