Al-Duhaa

The Forenoon (Al-Duhaa)

11 verses, revealed in Mecca after Dawn (Al-Fajr) before Cooling the Temper (Al-Sharrhh)

In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful

I swear by the early hours of the day, 1 and by the night when it covers the world with peace: 2 Your Lord has not taken leave of you, [O Muhammad], nor has He detested [you]. 3 And indeed the latter is better for you than the former. 4 And verily, your Lord will give you (all i.e. good) so that you shall be well-pleased. 5 Did He not find you an orphan and then gave you shelter? 6 Did He not find thee wandering and direct (thee)? 7 Did He not find you poor and suffice you? 8 Therefore do not oppress the orphan. 9 nor drive away the one who asks. 10 But as for the favor of your Lord, report [it]. 11

God Almighty has spoken the truth.
