And We delivered the Children of Israel from the shameful doom; 30 from Pharaoh; surely he was a high One, of the prodigals; 31 and We chose them, out of a knowledge, above all beings, 32 and gave them such signs [of Our grace] as would clearly presage a test. 33 As to these (Quraish), they say forsooth: 34 "That [which is ahead of us] is but our first [and only] death, and we shall not be raised to life again. 35 Bring back our fathers, if ye speak the truth! 36 Are they better, or the people of Tubba' and those before them whom We destroyed? They were surely sinners. 37 We have not created the heavens and the earth and all that is between them for Our own amusement. 38 none of this have We created without [an inner] truth: but most of them understand it not. 39 Verily the Day of Distinction is the term appointed for all of them. 40 On that Day no cousin shall help his cousin and they shall not be helped 41 Except him on whom Allah has Mercy. Verily, He is the All-Mighty, the Most Merciful. 42
