If they belie you, say: 'I have my work, you have your work. You are quit of what I do, and I am quit of what you do' 41 Some of them listen to you. But can you make the deaf hear you, even though they cannot understand? 42 And among them are those who look at you. But can you guide the blind although they will not [attempt to] see? 43 Indeed, Allah does not wrong mankind a thing, but they wrong themselves. 44 And on the day when He will gather them as though they had not stayed but an hour of the day, they will know each other. They will perish indeed who called the meeting with Allah to be a lie, and they are not followers of the right direction. 45 And if We show you something of what We threaten them with, or cause you to die, yet to Us is their return, and Allah is the bearer of witness to what they do. 46 To every people (was sent) a messenger: when their messenger comes (before them), the matter will be judged between them with justice, and they will not be wronged. 47 And they say: When will this promise be fulfilled, if ye are truthful? 48 Say: I do not control for myself any harm, or any benefit except what Allah pleases; every nation has a term; when their term comes, they shall not then remain behind for an hour, nor can they go before (their time). 49 Say: "Tell me, - if His torment should come to you by night or by day, - which portion thereof would the Mujrimun (disbelievers, polytheists, sinners, criminals) hasten on?" 50 "Would ye then believe in it at last, when it actually cometh to pass? (It will then be said): 'Ah! now? and ye wanted (aforetime) to hasten it on!' 51 Then the unjust will be told, “Taste the punishment forever; and you will be repaid only what you used to earn.” 52 And they ask you “Is it a reality*?” Say, “Yes, by oath of my Lord, indeed surely it is a reality, and you will not be able to escape.” (* The punishment of the hereafter.) 53
