Mention in the Book Abraham; He was truthful and a Prophet. 41 [Mention] when he said to his father, "O my father, why do you worship that which does not hear and does not see and will not benefit you at all? 42 O my father! Lo! there hath come unto me of knowledge that which came not unto thee. So follow me, and I will lead thee on a right path. 43 Father, serve not Satan; surely Satan is a rebel against the All-merciful. 44 Father, I am afraid that the Beneficent God's torment will strike you and you will become a friend of satan." 45 But he replied: 'Do you shrink away from my gods, Abraham? Surely, if you do not cease I will stone you, so leave me for awhile' 46 He said, “Stop it – peace be upon you; I shall seek forgiveness for you from my Lord; indeed He is very kind to me.” 47 I will separate myself from you and from whatever you call upon besides God, and I will pray only to my Lord. It may well be that, in calling on my Lord, I will not be disappointed." 48 So, when he went apart from them and that they were serving, apart from God, We gave him Isaac and Jacob, and each We made a Prophet; 49 And We gave them of Our mercy, and we made for them a reputation of high honor. 50
